Aftercare Information And Maintenance Tips

DO’s

  • Please wait 5 days after installation before washing your car.
  • Ensure that when using a jet wash, the nozzle is kept a minimum of 3 feet away from the film. The high pressure from a jet wash can penetrate and lift the edges of the film, causing lifting and bubbles - Damage from jet washing is not covered under our installation warranty.
  • When using a car wash, it is advised to inform the operators that you have Paint Protection Film on your vehicle.
  • Please use pH-neutral products on the Paint Protection Film.
  • Remove insect stains or other contaminants as soon as possible with warm soapy water. This is important because if left on, the acids in the droppings can eat through the self-healing layer.
  • Detailing clay can be used to remove contaminants from the film.
  • Light scratches in the film will self-heal in 20-30 minutes at room temperature. In colder conditions, or to accelerate the process, pour warm water (120°F) over the affected area.

DON’Ts

  • After the first 5 days, you can wash your vehicle as normal, but avoid using a pressure washer or high-pressure water source near the edges of the film. This can cause the film to lift or become damaged. If using a pressure washer, turn down the pressure and stand 3 feet back. Damage from jet washing is not covered under our installation warranty.
  • Do NOT wipe or scrub the film in direct sunlight or when the film is hot.
  • Do NOT use abrasive cleaners on the film.
  • Do NOT use dyed or coloured car waxes on the film.

Cleaning

  • Wash as normal, but ensure a 3-foot distance is maintained with the jet wash. Use pH-neutral products.
  • Be cautious, as waxes that contain dyes and other chemicals such as naphtha or kerosene may discolour or de-gloss the film over time and should be avoided.

Removal

  • The film has a patented adhesive that allows for removal without damaging the paintwork. However, removal is best carried out by a professional, so please contact us.
